Thanks, everyone. Seems like they are just running on the hot end of the normal range. I was concerned because the max operating temp listed on the battery is up to 104 F.
We have a weather station that's on Weather Underground next to where we always fly from. If the temperature is near 103º, we won't fly at all. The max operating temperature is simply the ambient temperature.
The aircraft definitely deals with slightly lower temperatures when it's up in the air, but if it is in direct sunlight, the temperature of the various parts is bound to heat up more than the outside air temperature for sure.
Now that you've brought this up, I'm curious if the 104ºF max operating temperature is also including 104ºF in direct sunlight. During the summer, it really seems like the direct sunlight (versus a cloudy day) is a significant impact, even when it is 104ºF both ways. |
