im woundering if the camera on the phantom 3 has a ribbon thats brittle like the one on the phantom 2vision plus

The P3 has a ribbon cable similar to the P2.  If you don't crash it you should not have an issue.  If you do, you are faced with repair time.  The advice, don't crash.

I have not opened mine up. My guess is that they wire the escs as are the current P2 v3.0.
