I have a mavic, first time I'm using a phantom. Just got it today and it's making this noise  which doesn't sound right to me. Anyone know what's going on and if this is something i should get an exchange?

Another clip of the same noise - it fades in and out. And i checked and it already has the latest firmware.

It's a known problem.  Hang on for the mods and they can tell you the solution.

It is the gimbal. When it is making that sound, the camera is vibrating. Try touching it and it will stop. It is caused by making the stabilisation adjustment too critical. Will be fixed with firmware.

Thanks, I messaged the admin. Seems odd though that some people are saying they returned their phantom for another one and the other one didn't have that problem. if it's just firmware, why would returning the p4 for another one make any difference?

Looks like you already found your answer but I was just wondering if you tried turning it on without it sitting on a laptop?
I did that once and the drone did not like that idea.
