     If that tiny light is the one on the gimbal above the camera, it is the camera indicator light.   It is a light signal for what the camera is doing and provides information during firmware updates.

The drone also makes a strange noise. Very quietly, three beeps in a row, constantly!!

     On page 29 of the P3 Standard Manual is the "Blinking Pattern" table for the camera.  A "Glows Solid Red" light indicates a System Error.  The three beeps are probably support fot the Glows Solid Red indication.  

     At a minimum, I would suggest you refresh the current firmware.  Hopefully the three beeps will be replaced by the beeps of the firmware refresh or update.  Be sure you have a rock solid connection to the Internet when you download the .bin file.  Look up the videos at the DJI.com web site on the P3 Standard page for firmware updates, etc..  There are also many on YouTube.  The P3S page is now under support in the main menu of the DJI Home page.  Then look in "Product Support".

Hmmm... you said underside of craft... You may be referring to a red light on the side of the craft...  That light turns green when you have transmitter to craft connection. Soooo... connect the transmitter with the craft.

It would be great if you can provide us with a picture about the light. BTW, is there an error message on the app? Maybe you can grasp some info on the app.

Hi all, I have downloaded the latest firmware but installation always stops at 40%.
Resulting in the camera system light staying red.
Any ideas please????
