Very nice story. How we change in 27 years! Good flying and music.  Thanks for posting. We actually visited there in 15' while at a shoot at the CMP rifle range near Talladega.

Great video!
On a side note... you're braver (and more skilled) at hand catching than I am!

Fantastic mixed colours on the trees towards the end. And to think that we were all proud of what a Commodore 64 could do. Nice achievement, and some good footage.

I'm still proud of what a C64 can do

Hey Ron. I have to agree with each of the above - great angles, the colours are amazing, and the music suited well. Well done.
And a C64? I had a Commodore PET myself - what you could do those days in 32kB RAM ;-) I visited Germany recently, and the Deutche Museum in Munich has the whole range - along with an original Apple I. Incredible...

Hey RonBurk, I have been to this spot many times.  Did you have to get permission o fly?   I know the rangers keep a pretty close eye on things.

Amazing how advances in technology make something so easy today that yesterday seemed impossible!  Glad you were able to fulfill that project!  (and Lordy, pretty gutsy to show a photo of yourself from 27 years ago! )

Did not have to get permission. At the first spot, we were in a National Forest, and the second spot, The State Park allows drone flights, just stay away from people and their antennas.

Ha! Yeah, this was soooo easy compared to what we tried 27 years ago and yes, we all looked quite different back then. But, I'm so glad I've been doing video and photos since just after high school and have all of those memories visually recorded to look back and enjoy.
