Corrupt video and sluggish response

So I turned on my Mavic Pro to take photographs and video at work today as was greeted with badly corrupted images on my phone. For some reason I cant add a picture from a link and it wont let me add the URL for people to view.





Ive updated to latest firmware and reinstalled DJI GO app on the phone since this happened this morning but its still the same. Ive also tried multiple android devices.

The connection between controller and drone seems fine. The drone maneuvers as normal and takes photos and video, you just cant see what you are taking photos of. The gimball still moves correctly, although the app on the phone seems to respond sluggish to this. I also get an unknown error 110 when I take off and the phone sometimes says no signal. This is at a range of 2-3m from the drone.

As I said the controller/drone connection seems fine. It seems to be something about the data getting to the phone. The drone is about 5 months old at this point. Can anyone help?

Any chance you're using an Android phone and DJI GO 4 app got updated to v4.1.18? If yes then downgrade to the previous version, best stable v4.1.10, look in apkmirror. I'm also having the same issue with v4.1.18 (bad video feed, missing offline maps link).

That seems to have worked. Thanks mate. I was worried something more serious was wrong when it happened in the field on a job! Yes the devices were a Samsung S5 Neo and a Nexus 7 2013 tablet.

Must be an issue with the new build of DJI GO 4 app

No problem. There's been a few reports on the latest v4.1.18 Android issues. I'm using one of the officially supported devices, a Samsung Note 3. Hope DJI will address this ASAP.

I have the same type of issue with an android ( 5.1 ) Moto X  phone actually after installing the v4.1.18 .
Note : It seems to me  that this problem started to occur from october 2017.   
How to downgrade to a previous version,  please?

You can downgrade by the roughly explained steps below...

1. Go to your device security settings then enable "Unknown sources". This is to allow installation of apps other than the play store e.g. manual apk install or via adb.

2. Go to apkmirror site, find, download and install the previous version of your choice, 2x variant is for tablets, 1x for phones.

If you have issues installing the older version, uninstall the existing version first.

BTW, do you recommand the v4.1.9 or the v4.1.10 ? Which one is the most stable please?

No problem. For your last post, v4.1.10 is stable IMHO. Oh after downgrade do remember to turn off the auto update for this particular app, in the play store, find the app then click the 3 dots (or hardware menu), uncheck auto update (something like that off my head).

I noticed .14 and .15 has disappearing off line maps from the menu on subsequent runs. Need to reinstall at least once to make it reappear, via manual apk or uninstall/reinstall but it will go missing again on the next run although the downloaded maps still works. On .18 the menu is totally gone.

Hi, so you have rollbacked the app and it works fine now, right? If it is right, I will forward this case to our engineers to take off. But let me make it more clear first. The transmission issue happens on Samsung S5 Neo and a Nexus 7 2013 tablet, right? And how about the error code: 110? Does it appear only when the app is in V4.1.18? Looking forward to your feedback.

No problems at all today (other than heavy showers and high winds). I can confirm that the updated app seems to be the issue. It must also be the latest version that's an issue as I flew only last Friday  (20-11-17) with no problems.

No corrupted graphics or error code 110 on take off today. Thanks Nazar. Saved my bacon for this job!

1. Badly pixelated and/or lag FPV feed even on close less than 10m range without any interference error.

2. Offline maps menu is missing.

3. Error code 110 mentioned by OP. I didn't noticed this but I got "No signal" error at close range for few seconds. The RC LCD status is fine though.

Downgraded to previous version and it's fixed.

I am using Samsung S5 in the last few months, and experienced the same problem recently. When I switched to use Samsung Tab A tablet everything looks fine. I spoke to DJI and they believed the problem was on my Samsung S5. DJI suggested me to toggle between USB debug mode and even a factory default reset didn't help... Thanks to Nazar78's post, now I rolled back to v4.1.14 and the problem goes away.

I downloaded  v1.1.9  finally and all the issues have disappeared...  With the v1.1.10  the video was yet  a bit laggish . Regards

Great! I've also just downgraded to a custom v4.1.9. Do note according to the latest firmware, minimum v4.1.10 is needed for the latest features, think it was the dynamic home point and pano.

I downgraded to this build, 4.1.15, and now all is good.  It's the v4.1.18 that is broke

I have the same problem 3 day old white mavic
I was using Samsung s7 edge with dji go4 app v4.1.10 and I have update to v4.1.18 both same but v 18 is worse

For the offline map, as the offline maps server of HERE Maps is unstable, we have temporarily removed this feature from DJI GO v3.1.23 for Android and DJI GO 4 v4.1.18 for Android. We apologize for any inconveniences caused. We will make this feature available in the newer version as soon as possible.

Yes after downgrading I no longer see the no signal error.

As for the video issue I can't test it with the newer version as I'm on vacation now couldn't afford to have any issues while on-the-go.

Hi, Did you ever see this issue resolved?  FYI I also was dealing with these exact issues on v4.1.0 and v4.1.15 as I was communicating regularly with DJI Thor during this exact timeframe (Nov 2017) when v4.1.15 was released.  It was defective software and it actually caused me to lose my Mavic..still dealing with DJI on this .  They seem to not want to admit any defect with regards to app lag, vid transmission isses etc with this software at that time.  It appears in even in this thread that DJI Thor indicates that DJI Support officially knew internally about this serious issue....

I'd personally stay on this if all is good for you.  FYI, I experienced this terrible flaw also with v4.1.9 - I think it is where the coding defect began as I think I used to have PERFECT flights on 4.1.8.  The issue may also be somewhat firmware related as I never had any issues when I was on FW 0.400; should never have updated that either.  I'd be still cautious with the S9+ as I think DJI's software defects are not really  horsepower related, it may be due to what version of Android you are on and that DJI is just not caring to fix how their code inter-operates with Andorid--- b/c doing so would require an entire new Go4 from the ground-up.  IMO I think DJI may be on a collision course for such a drastic solution.  Their has been almost zero noteworthy enhancements for functionality  to the Mavic's software/firmware since product launch (eg. the MA and even the Spark and Tello have more software tricks included so I highly doubt that the Mavic Pro has ever required processing power beyond say an S4 .  FYI, if Litchi is based on the same API (DJIs) then how come their software apparently works?  I digress...
