as far as I could figure out, its a problem with iPhone 6 display and text exposure on the screen, the 6plus with larger screen works;

Maybe even trying a tablet.

I read the solution somewhere but can't find it now but basically you need to go into display and brightness and change the display from zoom to normal. Then the messages won't be on top of one another.
