Im pretty new on all of this, and i tried to search but my question is pretty specific.
Im looking for a kind of cheap fpv setup. Iosd is not that imoprtent at this early stage, but a friend of mine just bought this setup.
The problem on his is that the range is terrible. About 100meters.
So im just wondering what kind of range i should expect with a setup like this?
Is it worth trying or is it just not good enough?

I would say 1 km with a better antenna on the monitor. It all depends on the area you are flying in etc.

Well, that is my guess.  It could be the chosen frequency. IT might be good to check other frequencies for better performance.

it would also be good to match antennas.  A Right hand spiral with the same on the Phantom or a left hand spiral with the same.  I noted that I got better reception on the antenna connection on the right side of the monitor so that is where I put my best antenna.

There is a new antenna setup claiming like a mile and a half range.  There have been several posts about it recently.  I don't believe anyone on the forum has received and tested one yet.
