I see different ways of calibrating the compass, some stand steady and rotate the drone in their hands (CW or CCW).  Some turn in a circle holding the drone at arms length (CW or CCW). I know regardless of which way it is done, hold flat and turn then turn with the nose down.

What is the preferred way please and what if any is the difference.

I tend to stand and rotate with drone until app checks out/approves. No problem whatsoever.

It's a matter of personal preference and either will work: you can turn the Mavic itself, or you can turn your body. I personally prefer and use the latter approach because it's less likely to result in me accidentally dropping the drone.
