Is there a way to check the Batts to se if they correctly updated the upgrade?

The easiest way i know of, just leave the bin file on you sd card in the camera, then plug each battery in and turn it on wait about 10sec or so if the battery don't start flashing then you have the new update on it.

another question once the batteries are all updated can we go ahead and delete the update from the SD card

Yes you can clean it all off.
