We are thinking of purchasing the Lightbridge for no flight use. We provide live webcast productions and currently have some very expensive but bulky Professional TV Broadcast SD wirelesses video equipment. Since we try to produce affordable webcasting productions we thought the Lightbridge might be an affordable HD replacement. The main place we use our equipment is from a waterski boat during a competition.

There are several questions which i'm hoping someone has some experience to answer -

  • My main concern is that we run the current equipment all day long for some events. Will it withstand running that long or will it overheat or damage it in any way?
  • Could the Lightbridge transmitter be plugged in to a 12v hot plug in a waterski boat rather than a battery? What would i need?
  • I need to make sure i can get a clean feed out but want to later look at camera control. What would i need to control a camera for video. I need zoom, appature and recording control etc..

Any help would be appreciated.

The Lightbridge can provide the video feed.  You will have to have a supplemental batter to connect to the power in.  I am not sue that your request for camera control is possible unless it is a DJI gimbal and camera.  That would be difficult without a DJI controller.

A rc controller with a sbus decoder on the other end is a good place to start..  then find an adapter that gives the camera controller that gives the functions you need with a pwm input..  that is the only way i see it working besides Tahoe ed's idea of a dji controller\gimble.  May dji should make the ronin work with lightbridge a little better..  you could also run some long wires from point A to point B
