I was wanting to use my iPad that is WiFi only version. Will this work. I thought I seen a video on YouTube saying you need cellular connection.

You dont need cell connection, it is even better without in order to avoid interferences (and/or distractions like phone calls or messages while you are flying).

It should work, there is no need cellular connection to fly the drone.
