Looking for a tablet to is for my phantom 4. l will use the tablet exclusively for the phantom 4. What is a cheaper tablet that will still work well with my 4?

I bought a Samsung Tab A (10inch) it was only around $200 and I haven't had any issues with it.

I never want the cheapest because it always introduces elements that can become issues later and require a lot of effort to fix. That being said there are many recent comments about Android tablets that work and some seem to work well.

For me, I found a comment on the Mavic forum about $100 off the IPad Mini 4 so I bought that for $299.

Do you use it exclusively for your drone or can it also be used around the house to surf the net without causing issues?

The amount of storage on the tablet isn't important unless you want to use the tablet for other things.
What is important is the amount of RAM and the speed of the processor and graphics processor,
I wouldn't consider anything with less than 2GB of RAM and 4GB is preferable.

If you were looking for the best Android tablet, the Huawei M3 Media Pad is right up there.

It will be primarily for the drone but will also be used for travel since the smallest memory on the iPad mini is 132gb which means lots of storage for movies or shows

Although some have reported problems that may have been confused between the Nexus 7 and Nexus 7 Mk2 the Nexus 7 Mk2 works OK and can be picked up cheaply on flea bay.

I did the same thing you want to do.   I have an older Air 2 Ipad that does my post and storage and I bought a new Ipad 2017 thru ATT.   My plan allowed a 99.00 upgrade and I needed it to be cellular anyway.   It works perfectly with my P4A.   That said, it WILL NOT play 4K video and the display is NOT as good as my older Air 2.   However, it works great.
