A question about the Phantom assistant

Sorry for this dumb question. When the phantom2 is connected to the computer and the assistant is running, is it necessary to have both the RC and the bird turned on?

YES!  If you power on the Phantom without the controller on it is entirely possible it will go into failsafe mode, meaning it's going to take off and really mess up your day.

It is not necessary though i always have them all on as a precaution and can at least check RC Calibration while in the Phantom Assistant, though many do not have both on as i understand...
To prevent a possible start-up and take off, TAKE OFF THE PROPS WHENEVER IT IS TURNED ON INDOORS!!!..At least if it starts it can't go anywhere!!

Im always power my Tx as well as my craft, but I always take my props off.

Normally the motors have to already be "idling" or running for that to happen.
