G'day all.  Does anyone know why the Spark uses mobile data, other than going into the forum chat room?  Ive now turned it off, but its used a huge amount of my data.

Im dying to see the responses to this one....i have no idea how the drone use mobile data, when it can only connect to wifi....are you sure you are asking the right question?

I would assume that it checks in with DJI to see if your drone is registered... checks for software updates... downloads maps when flying.. and checks your GPS coordinates against the no fly database.. none of that should use much data.  You can stream video to youtube or facebook.. that would use a fair amount but only when you were actually streaming.

Thanks for the replies.  It looks like the simple answer is... that the DJI App needs to be turned off on my iPhone Mobile Data in settings.  I don't know yet why it uses data, im assuming syncing data??  Even if im not flying, the data usage continues, I think because its updating forum posts etc.
