Specs provided give speeds, etc. for S mode, P mode, and Wi-fi mode? Are you not operating in Wi-fi when in P and S mode?  

S and P modes are with the remote controller. WiFi mode is just with your phone controlling it.

Enhanced WiFi with the RC in P & S modes. Phone only without RC when stating WiFi speed.

Remote controller is only needed for S and P modes. There a switch in the middle of the controller that switches it from P mode to Sport mode. Its not required, but I personally wouldn't fly without one.

Okay, that does make sense.  I did not realize you could fly at all without the remote.  Thanks for enlightening me.
