I tried recording some video on my Mavic yesterday and a couple of the videos were fine but most had green sections all over them, when played in VLC, in other apps the videos really choppy, jumps around and skips sections. I reformated the SD card and tried again today and got the same results, just tried on the internal 8GB and it's the same on there.
Anything I can do I do I just have a bad Air?

Looks like maybe not lemon but certainly limette to me.

Definitely try another card....

Try a factory reset..... if that does not help it might have to go back.

Did you fix it be nice to know the outcome?

What device are you using?

what does the video look like if you import it into a video editor?

Not tried that, I'll give it a go later, I've tried refreshing the firmware and calibrating everything but the calibrations failed and I haven't taken it out since.

I'll try to get out with it tomorrow and see if I get any better results.

Device means what you are using to view the live feed i.e. an iPad, iPhone or android equivalent. These green patches are generally glitches caused by a weak device &/or sd card.

I see! I hoped that wouldn't be the case. If this is taken from the internal storage so no micro SD card... you may have a defective drone mate and need to return it!

I purchased  A Samsung 128GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSD EVO Select sd card from amazon to use in my Air and the 4K video 30/25/24fps is all distorted, it gets all pixelated and green blobs appear its really annoying

I was also experiencing this issue with the Internal storage  I hope its not an issue with the unit itself

did you import the video into an editor ?  you can get green blobs if there is an error on playback on a pc.  driver issues, hardware decoding issues... can tell though if the video is exactly the same, the blobs are identical if you skip ahead or back etc.  if you post a short mp4 on dropbox or something i can analyze the file and see if anything shows up.

I have the exact same SD cards, and got one blip of green while using the Samsung card. Did some testing and this is what I found.

Look at those write speeds. I think we will have more luck with the Sandisk.

Thanks for the suggestion, I watched the video a few times and the distortions are not consistant,  I am just plugging the SD card into the computer, transferrng the file then playing it with VLC, Im new the video portion of RC aircraft  so im know I gotta be doing Something wrong I uploaded the video to youtube to see if that helped and there was no distortion, Here is a sample video via wetransfer

cool.  getting somewhere.  video plays fine for me.  video specs are all good,  corruption or dropped frames and bitrates and codecs are all good.  it's a playback issue.. what software are you using to play it back?

go into preferences and video and at the bottom press reset preferences.  im on 2.2.6
could be video card or drivers or something else that can't handle the full 100+ mbits of data.
i remember way back in the early days of divx, computers weren't optimized and no hardware decoding so right at the best part of the porn everyone would go green and blocky .. life is good now.

You're right. Good call. I tested them all at 500 MB, but re-ran just the Samsung 128 GB card again at 1 GB to see if it was a fluke. There was next to no difference with the Samsung 128 GB card between 1 GB test size and 500 MB test size, but I happened to not save the 500 MB test size screenshot.

Here they are with 1 GB test data. No real difference.

G'day. be careful where you purchase your SD cards as there are plenty of fakes out there Fake SD Cards. This is one device that I always purchase directly from a reputable supplier.

Yep looks like the same problem i have with my ipad mini 4. This has a a8 chip, just not a8x.
It seems that everytime dji does fw updates and dji go 4 updates, that you need a faster chip.
Probably they have some kind of secret agreement that people have to buy devices with faster chips.
I bought the ipad pro 10.50inch, which has an a10x chip.
So i will be ok for maybe a year ,then i have to buy a faster one again and again and again

typically don't need a new pc.  modern $50 video cards have all the hardware decoding needed for this type of stuff.

I also got this problem, Fixed it.

I noticed that I had very old VLC player, I hoped that upgrading the player will help and it did.
Small thing to try before you buy a new hardware.
