Tripod mode requires a GPS signal. If there is none, it will exit tripod.

I think it lost sight of the floor for a moment.

Tripod mode works without gps. It just needs opti mode.
But! If the spark looses sight of the floor patterns, it goes to atti mode and forgets all about tripod mode.
It does not return to tripod mode again.

Using tripod mode indoor is risky unless the floor is well lit and properly patterned. Because the speed difference between tripod mode and atti mode is huge (a factor 15).
Prop guards may be useful here.
I use sport mode to avoid sudden speed changes.

no need for GPS indoor (in Europe we built houses with bricks or concrete) it just needs sufficient light (optical system) to work with tripod indoor.
