I love shooting in 4K, the only problem is that I just have a very basic HP laptop that was purchased mostly for word processing and web browsing. It can barely even get decent video editing software to run, let alone edit 4K footage.
I can do it, but it is painfully slow, I can only do about 2-3 minutes of footage at most at a time because anything more will completely lock up the system, and even that can take hours.
I need an upgrade, but a quick google search on 4K editing computers shows that they can easily top $8,000 and up, I just can’t afford that. So, what can you recommend that will let me at least passably edit 4K footage, in a reasonable amount of time, using mainstream video editing software (probably DaVinci, because it’s free, but also possibly Open Shot or Filmora, for the same reason, although Fimora might have a small cost), and up to 30 minutes of footage at a time (if I have to), which I can get for an “average” budget, say under $1,000, preferably way under?
