First of all i'm french, sorry for your eyes bleeding from my grammar but i try my best

Like the title said, i have not used my phantom 4 pro in almost a year now. I would like to know if i have to worry about anything when i'm going to start it up. Could the batteries be damaged from this long time ? i have 4 batteries. The drone + all the other stuff have been sleeping in a good condition, no shock or anything.

I know i'm going to have lots of firmware update to do of course.

You'll know when you go to charge up the batteries for the drone and RC both.  That will preclude any firmware updates you'll get offered which is another matter.

Might be a good idea to fully charge the batteries, then discharge them down to 8% gently, then give them a full recharge again.   Maybe do the first discharge on the ground, but definitely don't use sports mode until they have had a bit of exercise and, be ready for an unexpected critical landing.  You are supposed to exercise them every 3 months.

I suggest not doing the firmware update until you have tested everything so that if there is a problem you will know if it is an aircraft issue due to lack of use or an issue caused by the new firmware, and then read the forum threads before deciding to do it - you don't need to update!

Test fly before updating.  If everything is good, do nothing.

If the batteries have been stored properly there should not be anything to worry about.

Thanks for the multiple replies. I'll try to fully charge one battery and do a safe fly without update to see if everything is working, and then i'll do all the updates.

Franchement, c'est à vous de décider:  Moi, je suis resté avec les version du soft et firmware de mai 2017 et je n'ai pas de problèmes.  Vous n'avez qu'à regarder des rapportages sur le forum, des gens qui ont foutu la m;;;;de sur leurs drones après un tentative de mise à jour.  il y'en a plein.

Bonne chance avec les piles. ils fonctionnent après avoir été rechargés?

Updates are personal choice. I wouldn't advise others how to run their show.
But, updates are often written, to correct previous glitches. They also often bring rich new features to the flight experience.

Besides, not all drones are problematic. The vast majority are not.

What ever you do do not update !
test battery , test fly your P4P , if all goes good enjoy your drone !
Do not upgrade / downgrade !

I pity you folks with faulty gear, or jinxed flight kits.

Feel very fortunate that my model has been exemplary, without blemish or fault. Luck of the draw.

No im serious im still waiting for it to be returned from its second return to dji for repairs its been in repairs for longer than ive actually had it myself.But as ned kelly would say ...SUCH IS LIFE

Hahaha i was thinking worse than no fly zones but lets not go there lol

I bought my drone in September last year so far i have been without it for 3 months in total lol.
but hey like i said it could be worse

Im hoping it will arrive tomorrow  but unfortunately i wont get to try it out till next weekend so ill let you guys know how things go.

I cant blame dji for the lost time most of that was due to snail mail here in aus really sucks it takes over 2 weeks to send a package from brisbane to melbourne
