I have updated firmware , calibrated IMU, but I can not calibrate compass. Down loaded DJI asst.2 but will not calibrate there either? Not even a week I have had this  and after 2 unsuccessful flight I feel like it impossible to correct. I don’t want to fly again cause this is an expensive toy for me . Any help would be much appreciated.

First and foremost, read the manual.  Ensure you are following the process exactly.  Then, check your environment AND your personal apparel.  Magnetics can cause the compass to fail to calibrate.  Move to a different (and distant) area from where you are having trouble.  If that's not the fix, then check very carefully what you might have on your person that could interfere.  For example, I've heard that iWatches can interfere with the compass.  Good luck.
