I have a P3 Pro. I plan on using it with my iPad Air when the iOS app comes out. However, I only have the WiFi version, so it doesn't have GPS maps without a Wifi connection. To solve the issue, I was planning on using my iPhone 6+ as a personal hotspot, to supply Wifi to the iPad. I was just wondering if running this additional 2.4Ghz network near the controller poses any additional risk. In the past, we were recommended not to run a GoPro's wifi while it was on a Phantom due to interference... is there any risk to this wifi hotspot nearby?

To solve the issue, activate the map cache toggle in the app. At home navigate through the map at maximum zoom, at the place you'll be flying. Doing this way, no need of any connection while flying.

I saw this on the iOS Inspire app. I guess it'll be the same for the P3 : "General setting" (next to the battery level), at the end of the list.

Doing so, you can even put your tablet/smartphone in airplane mode on the field so you avoid any kind of disturbance.
It would be great to know from DJI if the cache is limited per the app or restricted to available storage.

I don't know much about iOS settings although I know this is an option on AirPort devices. If you are able to put the hotspot in the 5ghz instead of 2.4ghz then there is no worry about interference. The whole DJI system is now using the 2.4ghz frequency, so anything outside that should not cause any problems.  (I know the newer Android devices let you choose the network frequency, just not sure about iOS.)
