Hi,
Just wondering, for those who own drones, what is the best practice to storing battery if you plan to fly 2 weeks in between flights?

Say you finish flying with 20% battery, would you

A) charge to 50% on the same day and next flight which is in 2 weeks time you would charge to 100%?

B) Or would you just leave it at 20% and in 2 weeks time charge to 100%?

I’d go with A, but that’s just me.

Always no matter what the battery percentage is charge or discharge it to roughly around 50% and store it. If your storing the battery even more than 4 days without dischargin/charging, it has to be left at around 50% for the longevity of your battery. I had mine charged to 100% and came back after 6 days, it was at 58% when I turned on the spark. So I would definitely charge to 50% and heck, leave it for a year and I bet when I come back its still roughly around 50%. Hope it helps

I personally charge all of my batteries to 100% after every flight and haven't had any issues to date.

The intelligent batteries will self-discharge after a time period.

Yes because Im assuming you will fly in the next 4 days or so after you charge them which is not a problem

I charge mine back up to 100% I also find the batteries self discharge just sitting maybe the smart circuit has some internal loses circuitry.

Actually no, I haven't flown in a couple weeks.  I think I will begin to store at 50 percent...it's just I usually don't know when I'll get a chance to fly.  I used to religiously take care of my heli lipo's and fully understand them, but I thought/hoped the DJI intelligent batteries took care of all that lol

Recharge or discharge to 50 percent.  It is not advised to leave a battery at the 20 percent level.

But why 50% when storing? Will i ruin my battery if i charge it 100% and store it two moonths or will the battery be weaker? Is'nt this lithium batterys?

Just a quick question, how would one exactly charge to 50% with the battery hub charger?

Pull out the batt when it blinks 2?

The battery automatically discharges to below 65% when it is idle for more than 10 days to prevent it from swelling.
Fully charge and discharge the battery at least once every 3 months to maintain battery health.

You could do that or charge it then fly it until the Go 4 App tells you it's at 65% or whatever % you want.

I always store them between 3.7V and 3.8V per cell like I do with my racer batteries.
That's the best storage voltage for Lipo batteries.

when they are charging in there, if you click the batteries once, they show how much charge they have. When the first 2 LEDs are solid green is when they are roughly around 50%

Hello colleagues, I suggest that you familiarize yourself with my expert knowledge on the recovery of dead batteries. It can be any batteries - both from mobile phones, and car batteries. This course will start your business with little or no investment. And it is also certainly useful for saving the family budget and earning money for personal use.

Please note that the battery will start discharging automatically after being idle for ten days. And we would recommend users store the battery in a place with appropriate temperature.

Before storing it for more than a week, you must charge it to more than 50%
Why? Lithium batteries retain their capacity best at around 3.8 volts (which is 50%)
These intelligent batteries can discharge themselves so storing it higher than 65% is no issue
However, they cannot charge themselves so you must charge before storing it if it is lower than 40%
