Does the Mavic Air Remote Control have a lipo battery, or is it some other type? Asking because I don't want to check it on an airline if it's lithium - and it's not in the specs.

Yes, the Mavic Air RC uses the LiPo battery, you can see the battery info on the back of the RC.
