Hi

I'm a newbie, will be buying a Mavic Air in the summer, I'm slightly confused about the device to fly with the Mavic Air.
I was just going to buy a Apple iPad mini 4, the question I have is this...
Do I need to have a Cellular deal with a company (Vodafone, O2, 3) to enable the GPS on the iPad???

Thanks

No you don't need a cellular deal, the ipad mini 4 works great with the air, no issues.

IF you are waiting for the summer, the Mavic Pro II might be out by then.  For me, (this is just my opinion because some people *Petr* don't like opinions) the Air's wifi transmission is hit or miss IMHO.

iPad mini is a good option, you don’t need cellular to fly you can use hotspot from phone to use maps, but MavAir is equipped with radar so maps not really needed.

Cellular is mainly used for updating firmware, downloading maps and so on, it is not essential during flight. iPad mini 4 is compatible with Mavic Air.
