Hi Guys,

Will be in HK for a few days for work - just wondering if it is worth taking the drone? I see the laws aren't that restrictive but just wanting general thoughts from people who have flown there.

Cheers.

I say it is always better to be prepared than to not.  Bringing it and not using it is still much better than not bringing it and wishing you did.  For me easy decision.

True, however I will just take carry on and it will be a busy trip - besides the peak and having a fly around there. I am out on a junk boat cruise on a saturday so that may be interesting.

I agree it's better to be with your Mavic than without your Mavic.

Yes, you can take the Mavic pro with you, looking forward to seeing some beautiful footages from you.

Better not fly in urban area because HK is a concrete jungle, personally prefer fly in suburbs areas.
People here are OK to drone as long as it don't distrub (from my personal point of view).

Also a government deartpment website for your reference as well:

Have a nice trip!

Yes I've been to HK many times and am familiar with the landscape. The authorities give you a fair bit of flexibility compared to the rules in australia, usa and europe.

Great pics - did you ever have any concerns flying the drone over the harbour?

No issues, just keep clear of the helipads scattered about.
