So I just managed to use the ipad mini 4 to edit 4k footage from Mavic Air and it works.

I used LumaFusion and imported the clips from Google Drive and edited away.

I added transitions, titles, color adjustment, and music to test it out.

Both of the Mavic Air footage are 3840x2160 @ 23.976fps

you can adjust the type of frame you wanted to edit on and being able to export any sizes, in this case, I exported as 1920x816.

it's an option I did, i do not believed you can import the video directly from itunes. so I decided to try it out with google drive, dropbox is available or icloud drive or one drive, etc.

If the Go4App is on the ipad, can't you just go into the viewer and click to save it straight to the iPad?  Or is it not the same quality of file?  Asking because I have a trip planned to Australia in June, but don't have a laptop to take with me.  Just an iPad and my iPhone with 256 gig of storage.

only 1080 or 720 footage can be transfered from go4app to ipad.

There may be other ways, but I haven't find it out yet.

Ah... good to know.  Thanks for sharing the knowledge.  I guess I'll look into ways I can upload on Wifi to save my footage while I'm there for 2 weeks.  I plan to get a Mac Book Pro, but I'm waiting until the new models come out in June.  I doubt I'll be able to get one before my trip.  My old iMac at home doesn't like previewing 4K footage in Premiere.  It's 6 or 7 years old now. :|

And I just read that you can copy 4k file via the sd card to lightning cable onto the computer... going to try that.

I'm thinking one of these would be handy... then I can use my phone for storage.  I plan to clean it out and have the 256 gig storage available for the 2 week trip.

Yeah, i was looking at these, be careful, some of them are not compatible with the latest ios firmware...

Luma fusion rocks. I do the same thing with my Ipad mini 4. You should go get a sd to lightning connecter converter from the apple store. Then you can import straight from the SD card.
