Hi.

I’m part of a newly started company and our first drone is a DJI Phantom 4 Pro.
We are looking into a more PRO drone like the DJI M210 or 210-RTK, but I’m a bit
Worried about the lack of service and the time it takes to solve problems from DJIs side! Well,
I can sort of accept the lack of service when it comes to the plain expensive consumer products like
My P4P and OSMO+. Or I HAVE to accept it, but that’s not good enough when we are talking about
PRO products like the M210/210-RTK. This is a very expensive pice of tool used for professional jobs,
And standard answers from DJI like “Ill let our engineers know. Thanks for your patience“ is just not good
Enough! I cant shut down my company for 2 month or maybe a year waiting for DJI engineers solving a
Problem.
Maybe I’m overreacting but reading about compass problems and now the Z30 firmware issue worries me!

I’m asking you as owner of the 210/210-RTK systems about your opinion. Is it to risky to invest that many
Money? Should I wait or go for another product?

Just go through a full-support enterprise dealer - not a consumer/mass market dealer.  I didn't and I regret that.

It took us awhile to work through all the issues with our 210 RTK. Not all were DJI's fault though as it is a very real step up in learning compared to our Phantom's and we didn't always have the time to work on it every day. We bought from a DJI enterprise dealer that was close and that was very beneficial to us, the after-sales support has been great. We brought all of our "issues" to, and through, our dealer.

I can't answer your risk question - I can say that we would buy it again. We knew going in that it was early production for the 200 series and some issues would be possible. We have not had any problems with our Z30.

Thanks for answering me Pokey.
With these words, I'm not so afraid to make the investment.

Hi FarmerMac,

We own both the m210 and m210rtk.   We have had them for 8 months now.   Our road has been bit rocky getting them to where we need them to be.   But we are happy with the aircraft.   As you know it is a complicated piece hardware and requires diligence to learn and understand this tech.    We have had minor issues but DJI has systematically corrected and improved the product.   You need to find a good enterprise dealer who has a lot of experience with these systems and one that is there when you need them.   This has been a key to our success with the 210.

I would not be afraid of making an investment in the 210.   For the money,  i don't know if there is an alternative that can match it.

Good luck and be safe.

i have the m210 + z30 +x5s. i have had many issues. and dji has no solutions at times. their phone customer support is often clueless.
search the forum.
--you will see that z30 users (quite a few) get a camera drift when fully zoomed in. i do too, occasionally.
--the m210, or its RC+CS combo used to give gps signal loss, compass error. they fixed that last month. many of us had the issue for months.
--the z30 camera does not film at 30 fps as advertised.
--the GSPro app cannot use zoom lenses, such as z30 if you wanna do detailed inspected with waypoints.
--others are experiencing other issues with firmware updates, do not fly zones, i had green video feed when in air so i look flight time.
--there is unreliable/unexisting live streaming. i was never able to set up mine. search the forum. it is useful if you wanna show your video feed live to a, say, corrosion specialist and get feedback what to inspect.
--i read problems with the m210+xt cameras...
--list goes on
--the pro Pilot app is a joke. the amateur go4 has more features, including automonomous flights. i use orbiting for water tower inspections. so i am forced to use go4.
--the autonomous missions on pilot are disabled. the app is a beta!

so definitely, you will spend big money to be a guinea pig. definitely the enterprise uav solutions are not mature yet. it is progressing. but far from perfect. fortunately, it is the best bang for the buck, imho.

good luck.

Spot on.

It's a product that is far from ready and really needs more work. The Falcon 8+ is £27k ready to go, a much more professional package that is years ahead of DJI in regards to software and hardware for the inspection industry. The Falcon is built by professionals, for professionals, they really take on feedback and have excellent customer service. DJI do not seem to take any advice given, their customer service is below par and I wish I hadn't bought the 200 series at this moment in time, its been a real struggle up to now. When things work it's a good package but the inconsistencies with the software is terrible.

We bought a M210, repaired 5 times and now it is sitting dead under my desk because DJI refuses to fix it. If I wasn't working for a big corporation that would be a big setback. In the end we bough an Inspire 2 and no major issues this far.
