So I see a lot of other people who have successfully embedded YouTube and Vimeo videos into threads.

How is this done?  The forum interface has a button for embedding photos but no video.

I can't seem to get my YouTube videos to embed.

Need help.

They show up as links... But not embedded.  Not sure why.

Go to youtube, copy and past the EMBED link, paste that into the "link" icon in the thread

I just copied the link in and it seems to figure out to embed by itself  (I just pasted h t t p s : / / w w w.youtube.com/watch?v=HoTdK7izUAA ) without the extra spaces to destroy the link :

So, if I have a video I must post it somewhere on the web first, then paste the link to that location?
You can't just upload a short video without having uploaded it somewhere else already?

I remember years ago when I was a flightsim fanatic. You couldn't upload pics there either. You had to get some kind of web site, upload pics there and then paste the link. Seems like a certified PITA.
