Does an ipad mini have to have gps to run djigo4?

Hi, stancur74. You need internet connection to install the DJI Go 4 app on your Ipad Mini. And when it comes on flying a drone, your Ipad Mini should be able to get as much GPS signal so that it will be communicating with your aircraft.

No your iPad doesn’t require to be the Cellular models. Which cost more.
But if you should buy one, that is Cellular those have the GPS module.
That gives you the ability to move your Dynamic Home Point.
Also some of the special flight modes like Follow Me require you to have GPS in your handset/device

With an actual Cellular network connection, you may stream live flights from the drones camera to your FaceBook page, or to your own YouTube channel.

There are always advantages to buying a device with full options and user friendly parameter abilities.
