Pretty photos of the sky

Next time, take 2 exposures, one for the sky, and one for the ground, and then put them together on the computer.  it will make for a nicer composition.  Alternatively, I would crop out the black part.

Indeed, you might want to try making your own HDR picture like Robert suggested
These high contrast situations are difficult to catch!
