I’ve the spark just got an otg cable it’s for iPhone 7plus when I connect it. It just keeps saying disconnected on the app. I have tried everything all it’s doing it charging the remote. Can someone help me please this is my first drone I have the dji rc remote

You need to follow these steps in order:
1. Turn on Controller
2. Turn on Spark
3. Open App on Phone
4. Once Controller is connected to Spark, COnnect the OTG Cable.

Try fully charge your Phone first.

Tried them steps. I am fully charging the charger now see if that helps and I will charge me phone thanks for the reply

Still nothing won’t work getting really frustrated now what can it be

Try it with another device, it is working with a Ipad mini 4 on Go4 app v4.2.16.

You are telling the remote was charging ?
Most times I saw: was the phone was charging, so draining the battery from remote.
You are sure the OTG cable is OK, maybe use/test an OTG cable from another one ?

No it was charging the remote not the phone it’s a brand new cable I don’t have another otg cable to try :-( when I get home I will give it a try with another device and let you know cheers.

It’s a 3rd party one. It’s charges the remote so something is happening. And I’ve watched YouTube vids and they use a 3rd party cable

That is usually (minimum on androids) the wrong direction!
You need a micro USB OTG (adapter) cable to a lightning plug
Not an lightning to micro
The phone is NOT the host, in this connection
The RC should charge the phone!

So just the 1 connection not 2 if you get what I mean

When I look for the direct one they all say not compatible with the spark. Can anyone recommend one?

Get yourself, for now, a usb micro OTG adapter, looking like the one you have, just with an micro usb  plug
And use, for now, your charger cable to the iphone
And order something like this for later:

you don't need an OTG cable with IOS/iPhone .. never used it and never had too.  I've gone as far as 1500ft away and still had a great connection.

My OTG is made up of two 3rd party cables. One is micro USB (male) to female standard USB. The other is standard male USB to male lightning.
I start by connecting the lightning connector to my iPhone. Then I turn on both the RC and the Spark. After a moment, I launch the DJIGo app. Lastly, I connect the micro USB connector to the RC. I know that it's connected successfully when the iPhone vibrates and displays the error message "This accessory may not be supported."

As others have said OTG cable only works if you put plug in phone 1st and then the other end in RC, won't work other way around. Then a buzz, click 'this is not supported, dismiss'. I and lots of others have found no advantage at all though with the OTG c/w wi-fi link. I've played around a lot and can confirm this to be true. I'm sticking with wi-fi to prevent unnecessary wear on the USB port.

plug the OTG cable into your rc your doing it the wrong way dude.

I agree with others your cable is in the wrong way round. The white cable should be in the RC.

It can’t as that’s the iPhone end pal?
