Getting ready to bit the bullet and get a P3P. Was just wondering how well (or poorly) an iphone 5s or iPad performs with the Pilot App and the P3 for FPV.
Android devices seem to be working well.
l'm having no issues either, my little ipad 2 mini is fantastic with the P3P. It's clear, easy to see in sunlight, not laggy at all, keeps connected as far as l've flown which is only 1500ft away so far.
There are some on this forum though who are having connectivity issues following the latest firmware (P3) update, not necessarily only with iOS.
Using an iPad Air 1 and no problem till now. The only problem I had was during my last flight yesterday on a bright sunny day : even with my self made sunshade I was not able to perform the shooting I had in my mind because of the reflection on the screen. If the quad is at some distance (more than 150m), the only thing you can rely on is what is on the screen. Safety being my first concern, I landed and goes back home to order an Anker anti-glare filter on Amazon.

@Ulysse, Please let us know how the anti-glare filter works. I had high hopes coming from the P2V that by using an ipad mini, it would be much better viewing, the glare is so bad I can barely see to set up shots. Does anybody else have a solution?
I used my iphone 5 and it sucked. Massive battery drain, and that seems to be a common problem . Also found that the video was massively corrupted and about 2 seconds of lag. Shelled out on a Nexus 7 2nd gen and absolutely fantastic. Almost no lag, crystal clear video.
Received my Anker anti-glare filter Saturday. I didn't had the opportunity to fly since then but I made a small test with my iPad Air in my self made sun shade and combined with the Anker filter it greatly improves visibility on bright sunny days.
There are 2 filters in the pack (I paid 18€ including transport costs)
I have a iPhone 6, and I too noticed an insane battery drain. On a sunny day, full bright isn't bright enough, but I haven't had any connectivity issues or anything.
