So I’ve just upgraded from the Spark to the Air

150 flights with the spark and it never faulted.

Now my brand new air is having connection issues almost every flight.

Today the remote lost connection completely forcing RTH, don’t get me wrong the drone did what it was suppose to do, raised to 50m and come home but I’m quickly
Losing confidence.

Anyone know of any issues

Hi, We apologize for the inconvenience. May I know if you receive an error message? What mobile device are you using? Is the firmware is updated?

Some have had issues some have not - I am very pleased with mine. I find using WiFi custom channel 13 within the app works brilliantly - I've reached 1.3 miles / 6,825' with no signal loss.

Thanks for the reply DJI

2 worrying occasions now

Today about 30m up 40 meters away, total disconnect which it initiated RTH and headed back. I powered down the RC and powered it back up where it reconnected and I took over. I did get an interference warning. But it didn’t sorta give a poor signal the RC just totally disconnected. Red light

Yesterday.

High interference again. Because unresponsive about 50 meters up, 110 meters away. Drone hovered and wouldn’t respond to input at all. Got down to 19% battery and then decided to respond where I fly it home.

iPhone X, all software upto date far as I know.

Flying in places I’ve flown the spark without problems before.

I’ve also had a 1km flight with no problems so very strange.

I’m operating in FCC so don’t get 12 or 13.

Had successful flights of over 1km also but this is a new drone and only done about 6 flights so far with 2 bad experiences

1.3 miles is over 2KM's mate. I use CE and have had no signal issues in 73 flights

Switch back to CE - sometimes these issues are caused by the device and not the drone.

That defiantly wouldn’t solve anything. FCC mode is a total improvement over CE on the basis of signal.

It isn’t the device in FCC it’s the drone and remote

May I ask a stupid question?  I was having similar problems with my MA for a couple flights and realized I had forgotten to pop down the two little legs on the front rotors.  The antennas are located in those pods.  Are they properly folded down pre-flight?

Well if you're sure you better send it back then for a diagnostic check and possible replacement as it's clearly your drone and no a universal problem.

If you get high interference messages you should check your flying environment. If you wish so, please upload the flightrecord of one of the flights with connection losses to this site and share the link with us: http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/
Or are you wearing a bluetooth device, e.g. Apple watch?
You'll find your flightrecords on your mobile device in a DJI subfolder.

I’ve no doubt it’s going to be environmental but what’s supervising is I’ve flown these places with the spark and no issues hence the title to the port

I have also had a Spark before and in comparison can say that I have indeed the impression that the Mavic Air is more sensitive in reporting interferences, just for me this does not lead to disconnects unless the interference is heavy and obvious, like recently with a high voltage power line and substation.
Thus if you want to find out more about your disconnects, please consider posting your relating flightrecord(s).

First flight yesterday with issues.

About at 34% battery the drone just stopped and wouldn't move, no disconnection warnings and im sure still a green light on the RC. If I remember I could move the gamble but the drone just wouldn't respond at all..

Hovered until about 19% battery then just started to work again.

Second flight today.

Again all fine been up and down the area a couple of times and at about 85% battery it decided to just disconnect from the RC.

the gap in the telemetry must be as I rebooted the RC while it was RTH
http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/0S9QWLICV43GVB23G0QU/

Both did show a high interference warning but I've never had it just completely disconnect. both in areas I have flown the spark with no issues and both after being there a while.

Thank you for posting this flightrecord which will require some in depth analysis. For me it is too late tonight (past 1 am here) but there are so many pilots here and many far more experienced than I am who might already be able to give you some answers. And after a good sleep I shall be back too, good night for now!

This log does not show a gap.  Only Strong Interference to Aircraft.
Does show GPS signal is weak with 19 Sats. prior to Strong Interference.

These are defintaly the right logs guys...

Days 1 flight

Only one quick high interference warning, then complete unresponsive and I still have visiuals. No movement to commands from 32% battery until 19%

Day 2 flight

Total disconnect from remote, no warnings of poor signal, yes a warning of high interference again but no low signal quality etc

Had to reboot the remote to reconnect

Day 1 didn’t even auto RTH Where day 2 did!

Yes I see that and data missing due to turning RC off, when you say didn’t auto RTH when signal was lost , what is your setting for loss of signal, there are 3 possibilities land hover and RTH , it looks like it RTH on one flight because of low battery , but on other day it just hovered so this tells me maybe loss of RC signal is set to hover.

Hence my worry 7 flights 2 bad ones

In regards to 5 succesful flights, and flight over 1KM.  Any chance you upgrade Firmware of Mavic Air after those flights and before 2 bad flights?

Anything changed (settings, update to Smartdevice, update to GO-4, etc.) between 5 succesful flights and 2 bad flights?

On the day it returned home it was 80% battery

I’ll double check what setting it is but I havnt changed it so assume RTH
