Hello Everybody

Today I lost my first drone which is Mavic Air.
I tried to find it but sadly I can’t go on the location where it landed, it landed on the rooftop of the hotel and I went to the reception and I told what happend and I showed the last video and the find my drone map and everything else but sadly they said no one has access to that rooftop.

What can I do? Any suggestions? Please help

All I have is the accessories of the Mavic Air Fly more combo.

Should I go on the Dji store near me and tell the story on how I lost it? Is there any chance that they will  give me a new one if i show them the location where it was,flight records, last videos and etc.

I haven’t even used my DJI care refresh, and I spent a 99€ for that.

Does anybody know where can I buy only the Drone  (Mavic Air only) no remote no accessories only drone?

Hi. I am sorry to know what happened to your DJI Mavic Air. Please contact DJI support so that we can help you with the issue that you are having today. I will post the DJI online repair request link for you to create a ticket for your DJI Mavic Air ( www.dji.com/support ). Please sync the flight records of the DJI Mavic Air as well using your DJI Go 4 application.

Care refresh requires you to turn in the old drone.
I have seen a few videos on YT where a crashed drone was rescued with another drone by making a hook from a coat hanger and snagging it and lifting it to recover.
One was on top of a 300' church tower.

You need drone for Care refresh, unless your drone ended up on the roof through malfunction, then dji won’t replace it.
Yes you should have no problem getting drone from dji, but it seems ridiculous that they wouldn’t let you or someone who works at the hotel access to the roof, how would the manage if they had a leak in the roof.
Go back and ask for the manager or owner apologize and tell them your predicament and the amount of money you might lose out on.

Nowadays In UK health and safety regulations often require a trained person to access flat roofs, quite likely the same in Italy. As Hallmark007 says speak with hotel manager. I'm sure at the very least they could arrange for your drone to be picked up next time somebody is doing roof maintenance work.

Assuming no one will go check roof.

You need to find someone who has a drone to flyover roof, and if your drone is there, hook on to it, and fly it off.  Mavic Pro (or bigger) can lift Mavic Air.

Yes, I saw few peoples too on Yt rescuing other drones, but the problem here is I’m  in a vacation and new at the place,(Monaco France) is where my drone ended up. And I got no idea who has drones on this place.

I tried to speak to the reception guy but he wouldn’t’ make me talk to the manager.
Finding drone with another drone! That would be cool, but sadly I haven’t got a backup drone incase of emergency.

I totally agree with you, but things are different here in Monaco France, i tried several times to talk gentle if somebody could go on the roof and get me the drone, but guess what people here dont even care if I lost it or not.

Btw I’m here for a vacation and I can’t stay here for long, I guess I lost my Mavic Air forever.

You mean I can get a replacement for it? Without the drone with me?

No I mean you will have to purchase, sorry if you picked me up wrong, so that’s why I think it’s important you return to hotel, and ask can someone go to the roof and pick it up.

I might be able to help you ;-) And one major correction, you are not in France but in Monaco which is one of the smallest countries in the world, but still an independent country! And by the way you have even two of the smallest states of the world in Italy ;-)

Find out when when the next inspection or window clean is taking place and speak to maintenance engineer or window cleaner. 'm sure you can boy the aircraft only if you are unsuccessful.

A lovely part of the world. I don't think Monaco is a drone friendly town in any case, probably explains the reluctance to help. Hope you get it back.

In terms of regulations it is actually very drone friendly. You have to keep distance to the Prince's palace and the heliports basically. And when I was flying there last year the reactions of people who saw me were very friendly. In comparison the entire Cote d'Azur on the French side is strict NFZ.

You will have to use your own judgment...

You may need to "Grease a few Palms" (with $$$) to get someone to go up on roof and return your drone if drone is there.

I believe that it’s on the rooftop of the building at the side where there’s a pool, but as I said only the people who live there can go trough, the reception guy told me that those people are important and they don’t talk to random people and don’t want to be disturbed

But i don’t know if my Mavic is still up there, people on that people might’ve took it already.
Btw people on That place keep saying that they can report me or something for flying drone, they keep saying call the police etc.
