Hi,

I am very very mad. I recorded video with caption for technical purposes.


I am understanding that .srt are no longer created, but the geodata is stored inside the video (I can activate captions by using vlc media)

I NEED, to export this data, I tried every software with no results.

Not a definitive answer as i have not tried yet but only researched a little a while ago.

It seem that FFmpeg is the best solution, perhaps something in this dialog could be helpful.
A possible alternative might be this CCextractor tool, but in general most that turn up when searching seem to be something i would not like to get on my computers, beside FFmpeg.

In my opinion DJI should provide a tool that could manage the files generated by their equipment. Something like this could be part of Assistant2 being that it would assist the use of our purchases.

hi how to get lat long information in a video recording via P4P ? what is .srt file what is the use ?

You enable captions, it is a subtitle file used to display the contained information on videos.

I believe you can't change neither size nor placement of the captions in VLC.

just download VLC version 3.0.3 and so far I am able to change font size. Still stays in same place & can't strip out unwanted data.

Thanks KedDK I will have a lool but I have not seen such a option in the P4P+ app so maybe this option does not exists?

If you follow the link in #11 it show how a .srt file can be extracted, that can easy be edited with search and replace.

And you're right VLC 3.0.1 also could change the font, i just didn't notice that part of the preferences. Tried it out but don't think the size change that much.

Does anyone know what format and service these captions are encoded in? ie., CEA-708, Service 2, etc? You won't see them if you don't set your editor to display the particular CC stream that is in the footage.

I guess it pays to take notice of the initial question but as a lazy flyer I just export flight data into Airdata then export the kml into Google Earth and read to coordinates I need.

I have tried creating a small batch script with ffmpeg for extracting the subtitles of multiple files. I can't test it as I don't own a Phantom, so any feedback is very welcome.
