Why do you need the "Remove Before Flight" on a lens cap? Seems pretty pointless to me...

I think it's a good idea to have that on there. How many times have you or seen someone try and take a picture with the lens cap on? Im guilty of this. But if it had a big red tag on it you would know that it is on. Now, what happens if you did't have that tag on there and you are in the air and realize you have the lens cover on? Now you gotta land your Phantom and take it off and put it back in the air and hopefully can get the same shot.
It's just very clear weather it is ON or OFF.

I put my tag on that darn Gimbal Lock I was always forgetting to take that thing off...

Yeah, but you would notice before you take off, because you would have a black screen on the pilot app.
Honestly, I can't image someone actually taking off before they notice the lens cap is still on. If you do, I think you have other issues... Lol
The gimbal clamp - maybe, but there's no way you'd forget the lens cap.

I've added an "Insert Battery Before Flight" tag to mine.  Nothing more embarrassing that discovering mid-flight that your copter doesn't have a battery installed
