Hi all, Please be patient, this is my first post.
I have just been using my P3 and it temporally told me in the "Overall Status" I needed to update the firmware. It then indicated that the status was "Normal (latest firmware).
I went ahead and attempted to upgrade the firmware on the Phantom and the controller. The text on the memory stick after attempting to update stated that the firmware was up to date
My questions are 2 fold.
1) how do I check the current firmware on the unit and the controller
2) Why should it tell me in the app that I need to upgrade

There is no way to view the Phantom firmware version. If you download the latest firmware from DJI, put it on your SD card, insert it into your Phantom, and turn it on, the firmware will be updated if it's not already up-to-date. The same goes for the controller. While that will not tell you which firmware is installed, it will ensure you have the most recent version installed.

It seems to just be a generic message. The DJI Pilot app doesn't seem to know which version of the firmware is installed. It would be a great place to display the firmware version though.

Doesn't show for me Autumn ... is just blank ..

Also my pilot log tells me I'm flying an Inspire ... haha, I wish, its only a P3 Advanced ...

Make sure you connect it to aircraft. Usually the current firmware version will display!
To another question, I believe your bird will turn back to be P3A in next app version.

What do you know ...  it actually showed up this time

Autumn, do you know if they plan to include Youtube streaming in the Android app at some point ?

Don't worry, they have the plan, but I do not know the exact time schedule.

Just upgraded my P3 to the new Firmware 1.1.9. When I connect the RC it does not show a blue light. I tried twice (P3 powered on: attach RC. No action on RC)

Checked the app: Other - Firmware sais 1.1.9. Is this the Aircraft's FW or the RC's? How can I see if both are upgraded?

i had exactly the same happend to my rc.
my unit updated fine

According to the release in the "announcements" section of this forum, the RC does not need updating - nothing happens there.

May I suggest to add release notes to all Firmware releases with this type of info that differs from the "How to upgrade Firmware" file and films? Saves us all a lot of puzzling.

Cant you instal 1.1.9 ?

I tried today to update my firaware via android DJI application but got firmware update failed (try to restart device etc.). Never theless I had flown and later cheked my SD card there I find this txt file:
