Hello there. We apologize for the inconvenience. Press the Power/Mode button once to switch the gimbal mode. The Osmo Mobile 2 will switch to the Free mode from Follow mode. In Free mode, the mobile phone stays in its current position regardless of handle movements. Press the Power/Mode button again to return to Follow Mode.

Yes, I aware of how it is "supposed" to work.
It does not function correctly
3 clicks will occasionally turn the phone to selfie, never return
holding the unit upright and still it never switches modes modes
Occasionally if I pan or twist the unit it will switch modes.
It is certainly not working correctly.
I have viewed the DJI tutorials and others on YouTube.
As far as I can see after more than a week of trying to sort things out - no joy
Unless you figure something out in the next few hours I will return the unit to Amazon and buy another

Is the firmware updated? If yes, then the unit is broken. I highly suggest having it replaced.

Find it difficult to wrap my head around 2 stabilizers with the same problem
but feel like I've checked everything
I really don't want to have to return another 1
and I thought updating drone firmware could be interesting occasionally
but What am I missing?

Sorry for the late response. Can you try to refresh the Bluetooth by forgetting it on your phone and reconnect it again? May I know what mobile device are you using? Can you also give me the latest version of your Osmo?

I am using a motox4 and and Iphone 6plus
Have also taken the device to the Geek place at best buy
the guy there says it looks like the button has a short
I'm done with the mobile 2
am gettinng a refurbished moble 1
and returning the 2

Hi, sorry for the troubles that it caused, I would like to clarify to you that getting a yellow indicator light means that your Osmo mobile 2 is having an issue with the gimbal. Also, I would like to provide clarifications here that if you're trying to do a follow mode this means that the gimbal will react to the movement of your handheld and this is the default mode, however, in follow mode the gimbal will be stable regardless of the movement of your handheld and if you're trying to access one of those modes there will be no other color on LED light will change, that will notify you that you've successfully switched from follow mode to free mode, you can only confirm it using the reaction of your gimbal. You can find this information using our manual.

I was having the same problem. I realized i was pressing the M button either too fast or too slow.... you just have to tap it, its matter of timing and works fine every time.

The timing for a single "tap" is to sensitive for a beginner and so its very irritating/frustrating.
It would be nice, if the current LED in the osmo m2 could be reprogrammed for this issue.
But at least the software could be changed.

I am having the exact same problem.  I've had this thing for three months and have yet to get it working.  What a waste of time and money...
