Hello DJI,

the new firmware for the bird and the RC are getting "mixed" reviews.
As is the Go4

This leads me to this question:

Will there be any "no fly" scenario to expect, in the near future, if I would ignore this firmware updates for now?

I do have a 100% working one bird right now, for month no problems with RC or Spark firmware (b/c of no changes;-), at least with older versions of the Go4 app.
Just don't feel right, to change that for a beta test, methinks!

Thank you, DJI, for your cooperation and understanding

I wonder if this update isn't just a ruse to weed out "non compatible" devices that had no problems what so ever flying so far. They must realise there are more than those 30 listed devices in the world.

That list is just a "best with" list.
The official minimum requirement ist just android 4.4
And because DJI can't sell drones, if they would put out a list with "not compatible" devices out, they will never say that this or this phone isn't compatible.
Which means: ALL Androids, with android 4.4 or better, are usuable.
It is usually DJI's problem, isn't it?

Just because buyers wanna fly, people change to devices from the "best with" list so easily!
It is a shame

But:
Still the question is, can I fly without getting grounded, if I do not wanna update just yet, in the beginning of this beta testings?

you not required to update if you are comfortable with the existing setup. You will not loose your warranty on the drone .

I'll update in about 10 minutes, see what happens.

It is just so irritating , every start to read this, again:

Bye the way:
I testet 4.2.21 on old firmware of RC and Bird: OTG worked well with OP5
Without RC firmwareupdate or latest GO4, so.......
Just forgot go change back to old GO4 , to look for differences.
And mapbox is not really my thing, still.
Also: It is not b/c of warranty
It is b/c of "if you don't update, you dont fly"
