Hi, I have the following problem with my Spark. When I'm in flight i get the famous: “Image transmission signal is too weak”. Is a Spark 3

weeks old, Since new i get that problem. First i was using a Huawei P8 Lite but now i have a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus and i try with both

phones to connect with the OTG because i read everywhere what that can fix the issue but don't work. I contact the DJI support and they tell me this:

Captura.PNG

I try that but don't work. I contact the support again and they tell me Make a Camera reset. This don't work. The Spark have the latest Firmware.

Hi GermanCur,

Are you using the remote controller or are you flying your Sparky with your phone directly?
If you use your phone to control the Spark, you won't get much more than 100m of /reliable/ connection.
WiFi doesn't have that much signal power, at least in the European area.

Hi GermanCur,

OK, I think you use the RC, since you are talking about OTG (missed that one before..sorry ).
Have you oriented the antennae of the RC correctly, perpendicular to the flying Spark?
Have you tried putting your phone into "aircraft mode" while you fly?

Cheers,

Well then...besides a defective Spark or R/C, is it possible that you have interference problems there?
You know...other peoples WiFi networks, smart watches nearby (Bluetooth!), even cars with their WiFi networks enabled.
You can use your phone to find other networks that may interfere here. There are apps for doing that.

Cheers,

To me it looks like you get that message, but still have a good signal, right?
Some time ago, with a new app, I think 4.2.8 was it, (not sure, sry) there was this problem on wifi only:

Good stream, but message like above.

What is your app version? (ops, 4.2.21, just saw it now)
But anyway, go back to 4.2.12 or 4.1.15 for testing:

Hi, I i'm going to try with the app. And for the signal my answer is yes and no. Because when i get the message if i continue says signal lost and the drone stops there, I wait a few seconds and i get the signal back and i can continue and this happend again. In this way I get until 300 mts in clear and straight line.

Thanks

How strong is your signal, which band is the Spark using?

The signal decrease until one or two lines in that distance.

And this are the WiFi settings:

I discovered picking the channel manually is better in some cases, then auto.  Try it.

And this are the WiFi settings:

The 2.4GHz frequency has a higher range. plug in and test it.

For the recent DJI GO application, many people complain that the range is less effective.
I have long been in 4.1.15. I use version. This supports OTG and works smoothly and stably.

They wrote somewhere that the newer GO app. encrypt data transfer (against hackers).
The consequence of this may be that the old phone has a large signal delay and a fall in range.

New releases have brought nothing new to Spark, new versions have come from Mavic Air ...

Looks like that Kiwis flying in CE.
Explains the low distance
You should change the band and try how much more distance that gets you.
Under CE settings, the Spark has lowest poweroutput in 5.8.
2.4 is a lot stronger

Change from CE to FCC. You get much better quality signal and longer range.
