Hook up your Tx to the DJI RC Assistant, switch on your Tx and click on "info" then "device info" tells you you are on 1.0.2.22
to right of this will say (in blue) latest version 1.0.2.30, click on blue text to upgrade
NOTE: it does say (in red) ONLY FOR THE NEW REMOTE CONTROL

I will try this update later, but will it fix the issues of red light on the transmitter and the dial not being able to control the gimbal on vision plus?. Right now I have not updated the firmware yet and I still see all the green lights on my new remote control but cannot control the gimbal using the dial. Have you tried updating? because I don't want to lose the green lights I would rather lose the dial control  at least for now until DJI fix the issue  since I can still use my iPad mini to control the tilt of the gimbal.

I have the new remote control 5,8 Ghz with dial on the left side. I just got it yesterday ordered it from DJI last week. Will the upgrade fix all the issues? red light and dial not working.

Ok thanks, but do you why  my new remote control dial is not working? If I don't have to upgrade it then I am doomed because the only way to fix it is a new firmware. All functions seem to be working except the dial, why? I checked the "upgrade transmitter" on the Phantom assistant software latest 3.6v. still no luck  please help. Thanks

Did you upgrade to  Version 1.0.2.30. What happened? Did it fix the issues?. When I tried to connect to RC assistant just now it says latest firmware version 1.0.2.30 but when I click the blue phrase saying "latest update" it gives me an option to upgrade but to the  same version 1.0.2.30. I don't understand if I already have the latest version installed in my new remote control why would it still prompt me to upgrade.

When the remotes where sent from the factory they were loaded with 1.0.19 in my case. now because I followed procedure ive down graded the firmware to a lesser 1.0.2.22

there is now new updates firmware/software for these remotes at this time

mine still has the same problems. im taking legal advice as im not happy

Actually the  V1.0.2.30  2014-11-04 does exist. When I connected my new Remote Controller to RC assistant it showed up the latest verion V1.0.2.30. I have the the green power light as well as the 4 green light monitoring the charge of the remote control. My issue is even with the latest firmware and with the green lights working the DIAL on the side does not work at all. Changed to "upgrade transmitter" on phantom assistant 3.6v and still dial won't work. I think I already did every to make it work and I just give up now. I probably got a defective transmitter and I am returning it. There is no point of having 2 transmitters serving the same purpose.

Life update,

The so called new update Version 1.0.2.30 will not correct or even show as an install when connected to a phantom 2 ver 2 new transmitter, that's the 2.4ghz Ndj6

Yes, the new 5,8 ghz with dial on the left side, but it's useless it cannot communicate with the gimbal on phanton vision plus.

Gobokinetic - Try uninstalling you RC assistant software and re-install it again using the latest v1.0.2.30, it might help get at least the green lights.

There is no v1.0.2.30 update....

all of us users with the same fault using 2.4ghz new transmitters DO NOT see v1.0.2.30 listed on RC assistant

All we see is NO UPDATES and 1..1.0.12

I am seriously fed up and feel ripped off by DJI..

Dial on mine works fine without the camera app on. Turn the DJI camera app. on and dial is inoperative. Any ideas on how to fix it?

The new controller's firmware is for the new controller.Please update it with RC assistant software and the controller will be ok.

When the new Dji Phantom 2 v-2 2.4G  was released last week I was one of the first people to notify you of a firmware fault within the new upgraded transmitter (Model NDJ6) which rolls back the preinstalled factory software to a lesser version.

As a paying customer of Dji products I am therefore entitled to a satisfactory level of customer service.

I have reported this fault to you via Email & also via the platforms of social media that you use to promote your business.

As of now I have been given no support or fix to this issue and many more new users on a daily basis are experiencing the same faults with their new NDJ6 transmitters.

Here are the facts that you dismiss and ignore…

The NDJ6 transmitter was installed with software version 1.0.1.19 from your factory

After user upgrading and calibration as listed within your user manual we the end users of this product are now left with a transmitter with led faults and software down graded to version 1.0.1.12

After many messages & posted threads on the Dji website there is still no resolve to this fault.

Your staff for example DJI BLAIR & DJI SOPHIE are not trained in software development they are in fact keyboard warriors who do not pass on the inforation presented to them.


Here is an idea that may solve the issue we as users are expierencing

Create an update within the P2 Assistant software 3.6 with new update  1.0.1.19 which may reflash our new NDJ6 transmiters and restore them back to their original state.

The email I received yesterday from Dji Hong Kong stated the following

We here at Dji do not really know enough about this new transmitter …………

Other end users have logged complaints and have also left threads about the same faults.

I upgraded to the new software for the new transmitter. Still no camera control when I turn the camera app on. WOrks fine when app is off but this does me no good.

Jrusk it sound like ypu are a phantom vision owner. something im not familiar with. I have heard its either one or the other. check out youtube and search for Simon Newton @Simon_Quads he has some fantastic videos and also is a vision specialist

Hi Jrusk,
Please choose the transmitter version as upgrade version at the phantom assistant software(Basic-->RC).
Then you can control the gimbal through the dial and app.
