Whos to say its only the Mavic pro 2 on Thursday? Maybe its the Phantom X.

DJI are pushing the event as “August 23 for the next big thing from DJI.”

Sure the Mavic Pro 2 would be great … Probably available in 3 Versions …. But surely the NEXT big thing form DJI has to be the Phantom X.

Whatever it is, I suspect it's going to have a really nice camera.

Hi, yes it is going to be a really nice camera. We are all excited here as well. Thanks again for still choosing DJI. Have a safe flight always.

Don't you mean the Phantom V

Or you're just hoping they skip to the PERFECT DRONE/PERFECT PRICE?

Yes... definitely.
Wouldn't that be great if DJI brought out their concept from November 2015.
Never mind that it was imaginary and modern DJI drones are much more advanced.

I third the 'water resistance' feature. My wife's trip to the Philippines was a total washout with monsoons and typhoon rains for two weeks non-stop. She's got 3 days left before returning, but no break in the rain.
If the drone were able to fly in the rain, she'd be able to get some footage.

Do you realise what images from a rain spattered lens looks like?
Or how scenery looks while it's raining?
Or what raindrops do to a touchscreen?
It would be a rare situation that would make flying in rain worthwhile.

You can always fly backwards to reduce the possibility of the lens getting wet. ;)
The pilot can stand under an umbrella or a shelter.
