Great features on the new Pro but at $1500, where does it leave the Phantom 4 Pro, or the whole Phantom line for that matter?

I guess next Phantom will get 1 inch sensor + 2x zoom and the price will be $1699

For those not in the US or China where the drone is built, there is obviously a small currency risk to DJI.

What I don't understand is the MASSIVE PROFIT to DJI for the conversion - 15% & 16%

M2 Zoom is USD $1249 which = AUD $1716 according to the current exchange rate ...

But if I select AUD$ price in the DJI store, the Aussie Dollar list price is $1999 - which is an additional $283 or 16% above the equivalent.

Similarly the M2 Pro is USD $1449 (or AUD $1990) ... BUT again if shopping in the DJI store in AUD$ the price is $2299 (+AUD 309) 15% above the equivalent.

Yep I know, tuff luck and there should be a small fee (perhaps 2-5%), is this huge variation in other currencies i.e. Euro?

No it won't stop me buying the M2zoom, but it will slightly annoy me

It is very similar here in Germany. Price is 1449 Euro (just the USD amount) which with current exchange rate represents 1674 USD, makes 225 extra.

The USD price is before tax and the AUD price includes tax.

Same here in NL.....

No tax is charged from DJI when it's purchased in the US unless you purchase it from a brick and mortar store. My end total for the M2P came to $1449.00 (usd)

I think the Phantom 5 will need something extra for sure now such as detachable gimbals, interchangeable lenses and a water resistant shell amongst other significant upgrades. Essentially a mini Inspire.

I doubt that would happen, would turn away alot of potential Inspire customers, but you never know. Probably as soon as I get my M2P the Phantom 5 will come out

I doubt that will deter Inspire owners as the Inspire 3 will probably have 8K video recording and the Inspire 2 already offers 6K with the X7 - each level needs to develop and even with those potential upgrades on a P5 there will still be functions that no Phantom will be able to do that an Inspire can. Plus you need to look at the price point too - P5 around 2 grand, Inspire 2 cinema premium combo = 21 grand! There are many reasons for the ten times increase in price.

The Phantom 4 Pro already has a 1" sensor

I imagine it will eventually get digital zoom.....but not for now.
