Ok, So I put just the .bin file in the root directory. 4 beeps, then the bird sits with solid red, fast flashing yellow lights.

OK, just spoke to DJi support online chat. Actually pretty dam fast too.
Figured out I used the wrong file. Advance instead on PRO.
Duo I feel stupid.
I have to say they figured out my problem in less than ten minutes

I HAVE TIRED TO DOWNLOAD 1.1.9 WITH OUT SUCCESS.  HAVE DOWNLOADED 1.1.8 ..    WHAT UP?

I received a second P3P yesterday and can report that they DJI are shipping the P3P with firmware 1.1.9.

I went to run the firmware update and received a fast dddddd. I allowed 25 minutes to see if the install completed to find a message on the text file that 1.1.9 was already installed.

Too bad you can't just plug the unit in and verify the version before wasting 25 minutes.

You could have. The Pilot app tells you exactly what firmware version is installed. You only had to fire it up.
