I'm curious as to whether or not I can fly to an altitude, and then set that arbitrary height to be a new "zero" baseline and then continue from there.

I have the Phantom 4 Pro (pre-v.2)

The altitude starts at 0 when you take off. You cannot reset it back to zero after ascending higher than the takeoff point. If you want to increase the max possible altitude, you'll need to take off from a higher location.

Thanks folks!

My usage is that I'd like to snap a photo every, say, 13 feet as I fly straight up. These increments are fixed to datums on some towers and the ground changes around the bases, so I just have to do the math differently each time. I was hoping I could fly to the first datum and set that to 0 then just fly up to 13, 26, 39 etc.

Any tips or tricks to accomplishing what I'm talking about or just good ol' fashioned "adding 13" to my alt display?

Switch to using meters, then you only need to add 4, which only requires 1 hand for counting which is easy, instead of two hands and 1 foot which is quite difficult when using a remote control...

haha! Nice out-of-the-box thinking, but I'll be going up close to 200 feet. I'd still have to break out the toes!

Off original topic, but how do you fly higher than 400'? For instance if you wanted to fly over a building that is higher than 400' and legally can fly an additional 400' above obstacles?

You push the left stick forward.
If you are stopped by having a limit set at 400 ft, you can change the limit.

It would be nice to have the option (independent of the RTH feature) that would allow you to reach an altitude and make that altitude the new "zero" height.

Thank you for replying!

Also, is there an option to take a picture every "x" number of feet traveled in the x,y or z dimensions? It would be helpful to be able to set the distances for each direction (probably relative to home position).

There is no such feature.

The Pix4D Capture app has that exact feature.

Any Litchi users know if you could stack waypoints vertically?

That's a very good question!  I don't think you can, it keeps highlighting the first waypoint.
