I was waiting for this drone to be announced, now on paper, it exceeds my expectations and it's even available...
But my Mavic Pro is in great shape and I can't force myself to spend this significant amount of money for a new toy (I did not make my money flying)...
Hangin on a scale and changing my mind every few minutes - Hamlet in flash ;)
Well did not both it today - tomorrow ... will see ;)

Whelp, since you purchased the iPad specifically, go for it!  You have the option to sell your MP to offset the price..

Decisions, decisions..  

If you can afford the mavic 2 now, then I would definitely upgrade.
Just my thoughts though.

Alex I am in the exact same boat as you, one minute I want it and the next I ask my self do i really need it now and that price tag

As someone who still has my Mavic Pro and today received my Mavic 2 Pro, I would without doubt say go for it. The Mavic Pro is great and has been a damn fine drone for me, but with the Mavic 2 Pro I can see the improvements. Haven't flown it yet as I am just charging everything and doing the firmware updates. Cannot wait though to take it out tomorrow.
Will be keeping the Mavic Pro as when I now go to visit my Mum and Dad  my Dad will have something to fly rather than just watching.

If you like your MP I think you'll love your MP2...

I had same problem as you but owned the Air so was not as hard a decision but now that i have had the Mavic 2 pro for a week i couldn't be happier with the upgrade. And would say anyone with the air and thinking about upgrading to the Mavic 2 won't be disappointed.

I'm like you this is a hobby and I don't make money at it. I was able to sell my drone which helped justify the new purchase :-)

I won't sell my pro for now for sure, thank You for good words - tomorrow is a new day - new torments, new decisions

I think your MP is doing great so far.
M2P will probably do great too, but will set you back quite some amount of money too.

Stay away from purchasing at least until the compatibility of the CrystalSky and Mavic 2 will be confirmed. Without that i even do not look at the Mavic 2.
And it is much better solution than with iPad

If you only base your decision due to not being compatible with the CS, you could be missing out!!  

I said could.  I still use my CS on my OSMO Pro and am patiently waiting for the update.

The OP doesn’t have a CS (didn’t mention it). They did mention they have an iPad. IPad mini works good. Not the best, but manageable to frame up your shots.

IMHO, the M2P is a step up from the MP.

I have a feeling I've been cured and next week I'll test it going to the big city and Not buying M2P till MP flys well.

If you feel happy in fly, and feel happy in your drone photo, by it. Just as what I did. If you have economic burden in your children's education, don't buy or sell your MP and upgrade to M2P.

I am kinda in the same boat.  I bought a Mavic a few months ago and then they announced the Mavic 2.  I am going to keep my Mavic for awhile since I still enjoy it before upgradeing to a Mavic 2.
