Can you upload a clip for further evaluation and are you talking about Mavic Pro 2 or Zoom or original Mavic?

just my MP, it doesn't flicker all the time but the odd time you can see the blades flicker, at least I think it's the blades, will attempt to get back to you with a video tomorrow if all goes well thank you for your help.

You can run a denoiser like red giant makes a nice one. I used it in this video here but not in the second half, you can see it. https://bit.ly/2p82W0C

I also know why it flickers, explained in the comment section of the vid.

Here the whole vid been denoised https://bit.ly/2D0JAEh

Oh, you can try a sun hood for the gimbal. It was developed by that guy homer https://bit.ly/2Qt97c5
It's something we all deal with on m1.

Here are some other things you can do:

  • Fly when the sun is not high in the sky (so it does not shine down through the props)
  • Fly in a different direction (if possible)
  • Use ND filters to slow down the shutter speed

Shutter speeds don't really affect stills except for long exposures.

ND filter and TOD make a difference. Keeps the shutter speed down and eliminates the light in the wrong position.

I've had issues with this too... When the sun is at the wrong angle, the props cast a shadow on the lens. The only things that have ever helped me is:
Sunhood, fly different direction, or fly on cloudy days.

yeah it seems to help, I put one on this morning, but pending on the gimbal you get that black shadow at the top, I will find the way to get rid of both EVENTUALLY thanks for your input and info.

It happens when your at certain angles to the sun. It's all experience really imo. I don't use the sunhood myself. Tried it, had one printed on 3dhubs and painted it matt black. It was more limiting than anything. When flying sideways you'd catch the side of it in frame.

More about being conscious of the angle to the sun. Keep the gimbal pointed at the ground and you can film anything. It happens when you're filming the horizon noticed and the sun is at just right angle to the left or right.

If the drone's back is to the sun, you'll catch a hotspot too. That's not so bad though, I kind of like that.
