Why is the distance between the master and slave so bad? It seem to be getting worse and just having your body in the way or being 5m away from the master disconnects.

Come on DJI its meant to be 100m ????

i think its caused by one of the newer firmwares that have a lot of bugs ... which one do you run?

Cant remember which version number, but its the one before the latest.

Its really getting bad to the point that if the pilot moves to turn with the aircraft and his body is between the slave it disconnects.

I experienced the same ... I am using second latest firmware xx.100 and it feels like the second controller connection was way better on earlier firmwares ... xx.200 is unusable.

I am having the same issue with my slave and master RC. Image drops out constantly. Slave RC can't even keep a clean, non laggy image.
