just to show a comparison in gimbal action and camera function between pre update and post update.
yesterday before updating my gimbal was doing all sorts of unusual things --- 2nd clip below
today after firmware updates my gimbal functionality and camera opperations were restored to normal --- 1st clip below

note: dji assistant is sensitive to solid internet connection (which sadly i appear not to have).
Consequently i updated via mobile data - worked perfectly first time and much quicker than through LAN connection

Happy for you, I sent my MP to DJI, got a new one with a new controller,  as usual they took good care of me. I am now flying with no issues.

To which software versions does this apply?  i.e. Version with problem & updated-to version that fixes the problem

My Mavic 2 Pro was doing the same thing. I just sent it back to DJI this morning, I hope they take care of it without giving me grief.

I was having issues updating my controller via the cable and computer when my Mavic 2 Zoom took its update easily using the computer and cable.

I was told to update the UAV with the computer and cable, and controller via the app on my iPad. Which is what I had already tried, and it worked just fine that way.

the update that fixed the problem was the latest update version available.
